07/May/2023 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift

Incident # 23-03287 - A smoke alarm saved a Cottageville family and alerted them to a fire in their home Sunday morning 07-May at 04:11. The family had used a grille on a wooden porch earlier in the evening. A little after 4 AM the smoke alarm inside the home woke the family. Upon investigation they found flames inside the home at the rear door and the porch on fire. They called 9-1-1 and began using a garden hose on the fire. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived quickly and deployed one handline to the home. The occupants had the bulk of the fire knocked down with the garden hose. The porch received substantial damage, as well as the back doors. The interior of the home received minor fire and smoke damage. Thanks to the smoke alarms, no one was injured.
