03/June/23 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift

Incident # 23-03963 - At 00:26, on Saturday morning 03-June, Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a structure fire in the 600 block of Ruffin Road at the intersection of Jones Swamp Road. Engine 26 arrived to find a two story wood frame structure well involved with flames consuming the roof. Firefighter-Paramedics verified there were no occupants in the building and used a deck gun to knock down the flames. Crews then deployed multiple handlines to extinguish the fire. Crews stopped the spread of the fire, however the second story collapsed into the first story causing heavy damage to the building. Some personal items were saved but the home suffered substantial damage. It appeared the cause of the fire was electrical in nature. The Red Cross is assisting the family. 

Engine 1, Engine 26, Tender 1, Tender 4, Tender 18, Tender 26, Medic 1, Medic 18, Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Captain KC Campbell served as Incident Commander.
