04/June/2023 - High Speed MVC - "B" Shift

Incident # 23-04019 - A 74 year old Florida man was severely injured in a single vehicle MVC on Interstate 95 near the 55 mile marker NB Sunday afternoon 04-June at 16:09. The northbound Dodge Ram pickup truck left the Interstate at highway speed and entered the wooden median. The pickup truck struck two large trees causing extensive damage to the truck. The driver was wearing a seatbelt but suffered multiple traumatic injuries including a head injury. Other motorists stopped to render aid and found the man unconscious in the truck. Firefighter-Paramedics arrived to find the truck facing south and removed the man from the vehicle with full spinal precautions. He was treated at the scene, then transported emergent by Fire-Rescue Medic 1 to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The SC Hwy Patrol is investigating the crash. 

Engine 1, Medic 1 and Car 111 responded. Firefighter-EMT Connor Mull served as Incident Commander.
