03/July/2023 - MVC with Ejection - "A" Shift

Incident # 23-04829 - A 16 yr male was critically injured in a single vehicle roll-over accident in approximately the 2500 block of Dry Branch Road east of the Town of Lodge Monday evening 03-July at 18:03. The pickup truck was traveling south on Dry Branch Rd when it left the roadway and flipped over. The 16 yr old driver was ejected from the truck and received multiple traumatic injuries. A 13 yr old male was also in the vehicle and received non-life threatening injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics found the truck on its roof in a wooded area. They treated both patients and requested an additional Fire-Rescue ambulance. The 16 yr old was transported emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 18 to the Children's Trauma Center at MUSC, but was diverted to the adult Trauma Center. Additional personnel assisted with his care enroute to MUSC. Fire-Rescue Medic 7 transported the 13 yr old to Colleton Medical Center. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. 

Engine 18, Engine 23, Medic 7, Medic 18, Battalion 1, Car 111 and Car 119 responded. Captain Doug Mixson Jr. served as Incident Commander.
