Incident # 23-05222 - A 35 yr old man died as a result of a possible electrocution at a residence in the 400 block of Player Lane near Ruffin Sunday afternoon 16-July. At 15:24, the man and a friend were moving an appliance when the man reportedly received an electrical shock and fell to the ground unresponsive. Family members immediately began performing correct and adequate CPR until Ruffin area volunteer firefighters arrived a short time later. Fire-Rescue Medic 18 arrived shortly thereafter and advanced resuscitative efforts followed. The man was transported emergent to Colleton Medical Center, but sadly did not survive his injuries.
Engine 18, Engine 26, Medic 18, Battalion 1, Car 105 and Car 111 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
