23/July/2023 - Structure Fire - "B" Shift

Incident # 23-05431 - A teenager's quick actions help prevent additional damage to a mobile home Sunday morning 23-July. At 11:01 the 15 year old noticed a fire near an electrical outlet in a bedroom at his family's mobile home located in the 2200 block of Pynes Community Road. He closed the door to the bedroom and cut off the power to the home, then called 9-1-1. A passing motorist also called 9-1-1 reporting fire coming from a window at the residence. Fire-Rescue units arrived minutes laters and quickly doused the remaining fire in the bedroom. One wall and some furnishings in the room were damaged. All of the fire damage was contained to the bedroom. The young man safely exited the home and got a large canine to safety. The fire was electrical in nature and started at a wall outlet in the bedroom. Fire units were on the scene for approximately one hour. No injuries were reported. 

Engine 6, Engine 22, Tender 1, Tender 2, Tender 6, Tender 13, Tender 22, Medic 6, Medic 13, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
