Incident # 23-06054 - Seven people were injured when a full sized van overturned on I-95 near the 49 mile marker southbound Monday afternoon 14-August at 14:21. It appeared the southbound van dropped off of the roadway and overcorrected causing the vehicle to flip on its side. Seven people inside the van suffered various injuries. Medic 1 requested one additional Fire-Rescue ambulance to assist with the number of injured people. All occupants were treated at the scene, then transported to Colleton Medical Center by Medic 1 and Medic 13. Southbound traffic was down to one lane for about an hour, causing it to back up several miles. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Engine 1, Medic 1, Medic 13, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Captain Bryan Eadon served as Incident Commander.
