Incident # 23-06846 - At 17:38 Friday afternoon 08-September, an adult male riding a bicycle was struck by a car in the new cross walk in the 500 Robertson block of Robertson Blvd. The man suffered multiple traumatic injuries and a head injury. He was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. Firefighter-Paramedics on Fire-Rescue Medic 26 treated the man at the scene, then transported him emergent to Trident Medical Center with additional personnel on board to assist with his care. The eastbound lanes of Robertson Blvd. were closed for approx. an hour while Walterboro Police investigated the accident.
Medic 26, Battalion 1, Car 111 and Walterboro FD responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
