Fire-Rescue joined Law Enforcement, other First Responders and Community Organizations for the National Night Out Campaign on the grounds behind First Baptist Church at the corner of South Lucas Street and Carn Street in Walterboro Tuesday evening 03-October. The event ran from 18:00 to 20:00. Organizations set up booths and handed out information or discussed activities with citizens. Children were able to tour police vehicles, fire engines, ambulances and the Library's bookmobile and play games or just run in the large activities area. The Sheriff's Office provided hamburgers and hot dogs to participants. The National Night Out is a community building campaign to improve safety.
