23/October/2023 - Vehicle Fires - "A" Shift

Incident # 23-08079 - Three passenger cars and a portion of a semi-trailer were heavily damaged in an early morning fire on Interstate 95 near the 42 mile marker southbound. Fire-Rescue was sent the location for the report of a vehicle on fire. Engine 13 arrived to find a car hauler in the breakdown lane. The rear of the trailer and three vehicles on the trailer were well involved. Crews requested an additional station and Tender to assist with extinguishing the fire. Station 1 was assigned to the incident. Traffic on southbound I-95 was down to one lane for several hours. The three cars and the trailer suffered heavy damage. The fire appeared to have started in the area of the rear wheels on the trailer. No injuries were reported in the incident. 

Engine 1, Engine 13, Tender 1, Tender 13, Medic 1, Medic 13 and Battalion 1 responded. Captain Bryon Eadon served as Incident Commander.
