Incident # 23-08703 - A 22 year old female was fatally injured in a shooting incident at a residence in the 500 block of Red Bank Road, Tuesday afternoon 14-November at 12:24. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation. The woman was in critical condition at the scene. An off duty Dorchester County Firefighter rendered aid shortly after the incident occurred. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the patient at the scene which included the administration of whole blood. She was then transported to a nearby field in Fire-Rescue Medic 26 to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter. Advanced airway management was required prior to departing the scene. The patient was flown to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. She sadly succumbed to her injuries. The Colleton County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
