Incident # 23-08968 - An adult female was seriously injured in a single vehicle, high speed MVC in the 4000 block of Augusta Hwy. (SC Hwy 61) Thursday morning 23-November at 09:43. The northbound passenger car left the roadway and struck the ditch bank, then flipped over several times. The woman was an unrestrained passenger in the car. She suffered multiple injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics treated her at the scene and called for a medical helicopter. Meducare responded to a field next to the accident site. The patient was transferred to the flight crew without incident and flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The driver of the vehicle received non-life threatening injuries and denied ambulance transport. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
