Fire-Rescue and many other agencies participated in the large Walterboro Christmas Parade. This year's parade was well attended with participants and attendees. The parade was held at night, providing participants the opportunity to light up their floats and vehicles. Some units put a great deal of effort into their decorations adding to the splendor. The crowds seemed to enjoy the show. Hamptons Street, North Jefferies and Washington Street were lined with the standing room only crowd. Sparky, the Fire Dog, walked the route and was assisted by Firefighters handing out plastic fire hats and fire prevention materials to the children as well as the adults. The children loved Sparky, many of which ran to talk or hug the dog. We thank Firefighter Porsche Walker for bringing life to Sparky and walking the full route of the parade in costume.
