Incident # 23-09251 - An adult male was injured in a shooting incident at Hillcrest Apartments, 518 Sniders Hwy Sunday evening 03-December-2023 at 20:23. The incident took place in the "B" building where at least one apartment was hit by several rounds and the patient received what is believed to have been a glancing hit to the head. Firefighter-Paramedics and Law Enforcement Officers from the City of Walterboro, Sheriff's Office and Highway Patrol arrived quickly. The man's bleeding was controlled at the scene. Due to the armed suspects still being at large in the area, the patient was transported from the scene by Fire-Rescue Medic 1 to Colleton Medical Center. Law Enforcement Officers searched the area for several hours.
Medic 1, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
