05/December/2023 - Debris and Structure Fires - "C" Shift Incident # 23-09292 -Two outside storage buildings and a great deal of debris and stored items were destroyed or damaged in an afternoon fire on Gadsden Loop near June Street Tuesday 05-December at 12:52. The fire originated on the neighboring property from a yard debris fire. Light winds spread the fire to the yard on Gadsden Loop. The home had a great deal of items stored in the backyard. The flames also spread to two large storage buildings on the property. County Firefighters deployed multiple handlines to the back yard to extinguish the buildings and spent several hours performing overhaul on the items in the yard. They were able to keep the fire from reaching the single story home at the location. Additional Tenders were dispatched for water supply. The SC Forestry Commission is investigating the origins of the fire. Engine 1, Engine 19, Tender 1, Tender 6, Tender 19, Tender 24, Tender 26, Tender 27, Medic 1, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 111 and Car 112 responded. Captain KC Campbell served as Incident Commander. |
