22/December/2023 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift Incident # 23-09725 - An old addition to a building was destroyed in an early morning fire in the 100 block of Cox Street Friday 22/December at 03:07. 9-1-1 Operators received a 9-1-1 hang up call from the area and dispatched Sheriff's Deputies to investigate. A Deputy arrived to find the 20x20 wood frame structure fully involved. Fire-Rescue was dispatched and Engine 19 arrived to deploy multiple handlines to the burning building. The fire, which had spread into the nearby woods, was quickly brought under control. Units were on the scene for over an hour extinguishing hot spots and fires in the surrounding woods. The building was possibly an addition to a mobile home that once sat on the property. There was no power to the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Engine 19, Engine 26, Tender 1, Tender 9, Tender 19, Tender 26, Medic 9, Medic 19, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Lt. Shane Weber served as Incident Commander. |
