Incident # 24-00584 - A vehicle accident at the intersection of Hampton St and Widgeon Rd sent three people to area hospitals and blocked Hampton Street for 40 minutes. The accident occurred at 13:04 when a pickup truck and a small car collided. The adult female driver of the passenger car suffered multiple traumatic injuries. She was transported emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 19 to the Trauma Center at MUSC. Two occupants of the pickup truck were transported by Medic 1 to Colleton Medical Center. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
Engine 19, Medic 1, Medic 19 and Battalion 1 responded. Firefighter Charles Maness served as Incident Commander.
