Incident # 24-01596 - An adult male was seriously injured in a single vehicle accident in the 14900 block of Round O Road at Fleming Road, Tuesday afternoon 27-February at 16:02. The southbound vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to negotiate a curve. The car overcorrected and struck the ditch embankment, then overturned. The driver was unconscious. Bystanders immediately provided aid and pulled the man from the car. Medic 19 arrived and began providing treatment for his injuries. A medical helicopter was requested. CARE Flight flew to the scene and landed in a nearby field. The man was flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the MVC.
Engine 19, Engine 36, Medic 19, Car 103, Car 105, Car 111, Car 112 and Car 115 responded. Captain KC Campbell served as Incident Commander.
