Incident # 24-2885 - Three people were transported to Colleton Medical Center following a three vehicle collision in the 16900 block of Augusta Hwy. (SC Hwy 61) near Byrd Farm Road Saturday morning 13-April at 11:40. The accident occurred when a south bound car traveling at a high rate of speed struck another vehicle from behind. The car then went into the northbound lane and struck a NB pickup truck. Two Fire-Rescue ambulances responded to the MVC. The vehicles and debris blocked both lanes of Augusta Hwy for more than an hour. All of the drivers were wearing seatbelts and received non-life threatening injuries. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
Engine 19, Medic 9, Medic 19, Car 110 and Car 111 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
