Incident # 24-03542 - Three people were injured, one critically, after two vehicles collided on Cottageville Hwy (US Hwy 17-A) at McDanieltown Road Monday afternoon 07-May at 17:54. The accident occurred during a severe thunderstorm. Two Fire-Rescue ambulances responded to the incident. Firefighter-Paramedics treated all three patients at the scene. Two patients were transported emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston by Medic 9. The third patient was transported to Colleton Medical Center by Medic 19. Traffic was blocked at the intersection for about 30 minutes. A private ambulance drove up on the accident and began administering care to the injured prior to Fire-Rescue arriving. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Engine 9, Medic 9, Medic 19 and Battalion 1 responded. Firefighter-Paramedic Storm Hadwin served as Incident Commander.
