Incident # 24-04521 - A nine year old male received multiple traumatic injuries in an ATV accident on Trantham Dr west of the Town of Smoaks, Tuesday afternoon 11-June at 16:53. He was not wearing a helmet. Firefighter-Paramedics responded to his home and treated him at the scene. A medical helicopter was requested and Fire-Rescue Medic 7 transported him emergent to a field at the intersection of Lowcountry Hwy. (US Hwy 21) and Sunrise Rd. (SC Hwy 217). The CARE Flight helicopter met the ambulance at the field. The child was transferred to the Flightcrew, then flown to the Children's Trauma Center at Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital at MUSC in Charleston.
Engine 7, Medic 7, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Lt. David Sauls served as Incident Commander.
