06/July/2024 - MVC with Air Evac - "C" Shift Incident # 24-05122 - An adult male was seriously injured in a single vehicle MVC on I-95 at the 60 mile marker northbound, Saturday morning 06-July at 02:38. A semi-truck hauling produce dropped off of the shoulder at a high rate of speed and lost control. The truck overturned partially blocking one lane of I-95. Fire-Rescue crews arrived a short time later and extricated the male driver through the windshield. He was treated at the scene, then transported emergent to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center to meet with the CARE Flight helicopter. The patient was transferred to the Flight Crew without incident, then flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the MVC. Gerald's Wrecker Service moved the truck from the roadway to open up both lanes of travel. Engine 26, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Captain Brian Rowe served as Incident Commander |
