Incident # 24-05464 - A fire occurred in a restaurant located at 10476 Cottageville Hwy in the Town of Cottageville, Wednesday afternoon 17-July at 14:11. The business was not open at the time of the fire. Callers to 9-1-1 reported smoke coming from the roof of the structure. Engine 9 arrived to find smoke and flames extending from the exterior electrical box and weatherhead. Firefighter-Paramedics made entry through the front door and found smoke inside the structure. Two handlines were deployed to the building. All of the fire was contained to the area around the electrical service line. Dominion Energy disconnected the power to the building. Fire units were on the scene for 1-1/2 hours.
Engine 9, Engine 19, Tender 5, Tender 9, Tender 19, Tender 27, Medic 9, Medic 19, Battalion 1, Car 103 and Car 115 responded. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander.
