18/July/2024 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift

Incident # 24-05519 - A Community Ave residence was heavily damaged in an evening fire Thursday night 18-July. At 22:47, 9-1-1 was notified of the fire, with the caller advising the fire started on the stove. All occupants had safely exited the structure. Engine 7 arrived to find smoke coming from the singlewide mobile home. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed one handline to the building and made entry through the front door. Crews found the fire in the kitchen which was located in the center of the mobile home. They quickly extinguished the fire containing it to the area of the kitchen, saving the home and most of the belongings. The fire had extended to the cabinets and ceiling around the stove. The occupant advised he had accidentally left food cooking on the stove. Fire units were on the scene for 2 hours. No injuries were reported. The Red Cross is assisting the family. 

Engine 7, Engine 18, Tender 7, Tender 18, Tender 26, Medic 7, Medic 18, Battalion 1 and Car 118 responded. Firefighter-EMT Andrew McCaskill served as Incident Commander.
