26/July/2024 - High Speed MVC - "C" Shift

Incident # 24-05741 - A single vehicle, high speed MVC sent one man to a Trauma Center Friday evening 26-July. At 21:01, two volunteer firefighters who were returning home when they drove up on the accident. As they rounded a curve, there was a heavily damaged white Honda Accord in the middle of the roadway. Debris littered the scene. Upon inspection, they discovered an unconscious man in the driver's seat. The driver regained consciousness just prior to the ambulance arriving. He suffered multiple traumatic injuries and a head injury. He was treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics, then transported emergent to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston. The roadway was blocked for a little over an hour. The Honda had been traveling south on Possum Corner Road when it left the roadway and struck several trees on the northbound side of the road. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. 

Engine 6, Medic 6, Rescue 1, Car 107 and Car 111 responded. Lt. Ray Delonge served as Incident Commander.
