03/August/2024 - Structure Fire - "B" Shift

Incident # 24-05939 A residence in the 1600 block of Red Root Rd was destroyed in an afternoon fire that occurred Saturday 03-August. At 15:03, a caller to 9-1-1 reported the home was well involved. Engine 18 arrived minutes later to find the singlewide mobile home approximately 80% involved with fire coming from all sides of the building. A vehicle parked next to the home was also well involved. The residence was located well off of the road, behind several other homes. Engine 18 deployed several handlines to the building. The LP tank vented shortly after arrival and one hand line was dedicated to cool the tank. Crews had the bulk of the fire knocked down within 20 minutes, but were on the scene for several hours performing overhaul. The mobile home, all of the contents and the vehicle were destroyed. No one was at home when the fire occurred and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.  

Engine 4, Engine 18, Tender 4, Tender 7, Tender 15, Tender 18, Tender 26, Tender 27, Medic 7, Medic 18, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
