Incident # 24-06780 - A single vehicle MVC sent one woman to a Trauma Center early Sunday morning 01-September at 03:00. The accident occurred in the 6200 block of Cottageville Hwy. (US Hwy 17-A) just east of Round O Crossroads. According to witnesses, the southbound Honda Accord was traveling at a high rate of speed, when it left the roadway and struck several trees. The car received heavy damage and rolled over onto the passenger's side. The female driver, the only occupant, was trapped inside the wreckage. Firefighter-Paramedics stabilized the car and used a variety of tools to extricate the woman. She was treated at the scene and transported emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center with additional personnel on board to assist with her care. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Engine 9, Medic 9, Medic 19, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 111 and Car 118 responded. Captain Biran Rowe served as Incident Commander.
