Incident # 24-07416 - An adult female was transported to a Trauma Center following a single vehicle MVC in the 2600 block of Bells Hwy. Monday morning 23-September at 04:13. The vehicle left the roadway and drove behind the guardrail. It jumped the Jones Swamp Creek and impacted the opposite bank, overturning between several trees. The driver was able to exit the vehicle on her own, but suffered multiple injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics treated her at the scene, then transported her emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. Bells Hwy was blocked for a short period while Eric Bailey's Wrecker Service used a large rotator wrecker to lift the car from the swamp beneath the bridge. The accident is being investigated by the SC Highway Patrol.
Engine 26 and Medic 26 responded. Captain Robert Gregory served as Incident Commander.
