Incident # 24-07834 - An adult male was severely injured in a two vehicle MVC in the 13000 block of Charleston Hwy. (SC Hwy 64) just west of Jacksboro Road. The accident occurred Thursday morning at 11:00. Two west bound passenger cars collided, sending one vehicle into the ditch where it struck a driveway culvert, became airborne and struck several trees. The car overturned trapping the injured driver. No one was injured in the other vehicle. Firefighter-Paramedics used Holmatro hydraulic and Pentheon Rescue Tools to remove the driver's side of the car and extricate the man. He was quickly treated at the scene, then transported emergent to the Trauma Center at MUSC in Fire-Rescue Medic 6. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Engine 6, Medic 6, Battalion 1, Rescue 1, Car 101, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Firefighter-Paramedic Jonathan Brown served as Incident Commander.
