Incident # 24-08173 - A woods fire near the intersection of Cayce Rd and Mt. Nebo Rd, burned several acres and spread to several outdoor sheds and an SUV Monday afternoon 14-Oct at 15:36. Engine 23 was originally dispatched to the incident as a woods fire, but arrived to find the vehicle and sheds on fire. The incident was upgraded to a structural response. bringing three additional stations to the scene. The Forestry Commission was also requested and sent a tractor to work the woods fire. Firefighters deployed multiple hand lines to extinguish the fire and protect a residence on the property. The home was not damaged, however the vehicle and a shed were destroyed. The origin of the fire is under investigation by the Forestry Commission. Fire units were on the scene for two hours.
Engine 7, Engine 15, Engine 18, Engine 23, Tender 7, Tender 15, Tender 18, Tender 23, Medic 7, Medic 18 and Battalion 1 responded. Lt. Doug Mixson Sr. served as Incident Commander.
