Incident # 24-08273 - A large combine being moved on Confederate Hwy. (SC Hwy 641) near Halyard Road caught fire Friday morning 18-October at 11:07. The large piece of farming equipment was fully involved when Engine 18 arrived. The fire blocked both lanes of the rural highway and spread into the nearby woods. Engine 18 requested an additional Tender and a plow from the Forestry Commission. The combine was not loaded when the fire occurred. It was destroyed in the fire. Units were on the scene for five hours. No one was injured. The Sheriff's Office conducted traffic control.
Engine 18, Tender 15, Tender 18, Medic 18, Battalion 1 and Car 107 responded. Firefighter-Paramedic James Gibby served as Incident Commander.
