06/November/2024 - MVC with Entrapment & Air Evac - "A" Shift

Incident # 24-08886 - At 10:15 Wednesday morning 06-November, a southbound passenger car struck the rear of another southbound vehicle in approximately the 700 block of Ivanhoe Road. The car lost control, left the roadway and struck a tree, trapping the female driver. The woman was found semi conscious in the car. She was treated by Firefighter-Paramedics while other crew members used Homatro Pentheon rescue tools to extricate the victim. She suffered a possible head injury. Fire-Rescue Medic 1, transported the woman emergent to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center where she was transferred to the Flightcrew. CARE Flight flew the patient to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The accident is being investigated by the Walterboro Police Department. WPD blocked off a section of Ivanhoe Road for about an hour. 

Engine 26, Medic 1, Medic 26, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 107, Car 112 and Car 115 responded. Captain Bryon Eadon served as Incident Commander. Walterboro Fire Department also responded.
