06/November/2024 - MVC with entrapment - "A" Shift

Incident # 24-08893 - A single vehicle MVC sent one patient to Colleton Medical Center Wednesday afternoon at 12:33. During a light rain, a pickup truck left Bells Hwy (SC Hwy 64) at Stokes Road, went down an embankment and overturned. The adult female driver was trapped in the truck, with non-life threatening injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics used Holmatro struts and cribbing to stabilize the vehicle, then removed the rear glass and windshield to reach the patient. She was treated inside the overturned car, before being extricated on a LSB and carried up the embankment. Fire-Rescue Medic 26 transported her to Colleton Medical Center. Bells Hwy was down to one lane for about 45 minutes. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. Sheriff's Deputies conducted traffic control. 

Engine 26, Medic 19, Rescue 1, Battalion 1, Car 101, Car 107, Car 112 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
