Incident # 24-10211 - Colleton County responded as mutual aid to Hampton County for a two vehicle MVC with entrapment at the intersection of Yemassee Hwy (SC Hwy 68) and Lane Street in the Town of Yemassee Christmas Day 25-December at 15:33. Hampton County Fire-Rescue performed the extrication of the trapped victim and were removing the patient when Colleton Medic 1 arrived. The CARE Flight helicopter had already been requested and landed approximately 1 mile from the scene on Yemassee Hwy. Hampton County EMS transported the other victims. Medic 1 transported an adult female with multiple traumatic injuries from the accident site to the landing zone. The patient was transferred to the Flight Crew, then flown to a Trauma Center for additional care. The Town of Yemassee Police Dept is investigating the MVC. Hampton County Fire-Rescue served as Incident Command.
