CCFR December 26 2024

Incident # 24-10236 - An adult male received a life threatening gunshot wound during an incident in the 200 block of Rivers Street in the City of Walterboro Thursday afternoon 26-December at 13:14. Law Enforcement officers found the man lying near the road bleeding profusely. Police officers began treating his injuries and controlled his external bleeding prior to the arrival of Firefighter-Paramedics. Medics 19 and 26 responded, then continued his care at the scene. No medical helicopters could fly due to poor weather conditions. Crews treated his injuries including the administration of whole blood, then transported him emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 26 to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. Additional personnel assisted with his care during transport. The Walterboro Police Dept is conducting the investigation.
