14/January/2025 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift Incident # 25-00333 - A family of seven was displaced following a structure fire that destroyed most of their home Tuesday afternoon 14-January. At 12:38, an occupant notified 9-1-1 of the fire. The caller advised the fire started in a back bedroom by a heater. All occupants were able to safely exit the structure. Engine 6 arrived to find the home well involved. The fire had already entered the attic. Firefighter-Paramedics initially deployed two handlines and entered the building through the front door. Crews were driven out of the building by the intense heat and collapsing roof. They then made an exterior attack and requested a second alarm for Tenders. Additional large handlines were deployed. Water supply was conducted with Tenders pumping truck to truck. Crews had the fire under control after about 35 minutes, but were on the scene for four hours performing overhaul. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the family. No injuries were reported. The home suffered substantial damage and most personal items were destroyed. |
