Incident # 25-00342 - A ten year old girl was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in the 100 block of Chestnut Road Tuesday afternoon 14-January at 16:18. The vehicle that hit her fled the scene without rendering care to the injured child. Fire-Rescue arrived to find multiple bystanders providing aid to the girl. Firefighter-Paramedics treated the child at the scene for multiple traumatic injuries, then transported her emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 1 to the Shawn Jenkins Children's Trauma Center at MUSC. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
Anyone with information regarding the person who struck the child or the vehicle involved is urged to contact the SC Highway Patrol or the Colleton County Sheriff's Office.
