Incident # 25-000619 - Two young teeneagers were injured in a snow tubing accident at a residence in the 3100 block of Hudson Mill Road Thursday 23-January at 16:40. The girls were enjoying the snow when they were thrown off of an inner tube being pulled behind an ATV. The two collided with a parked trailer causing critical injuries to the younger child. She was unconscious following the accident. Firefighter-Paramedics treated both girls at the scene and requested two medical helicopters to respond to the rural community. CARE Flight and Meducare 3 responded and landed at the scene. The younger girl suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was in critical condition. Both were flown to the Shawn Jenkins Children's Trauma Center at MUSC in Charleston.
Engine 1, Medic 1, Medic 18, Car 103, Car 105, Car 107, Car 112, Car 115, Car 118 and Car 119 responded. Deputy Chief David Greene served as Incident Commander.
