  29/January/2025 - Woods and Vehicle Fires - "C" Shift

Incident # 25-00818 - A fire that started from an unattended burn barrel spread across several yards, a field and then entered a large wooded area Wednesday afternoon 29-January. At 15:37, Fire-Rescue was dispatched to the 100 block of Esau Circle. Engine 6 arrived to find a fast moving grass fire, with one vehicle well involved. Several buildings on nearby property were also endangered. Additional fire units and the Forestry Commission were requested to assist. The fire spread into nearby woods and an adjacent field containing many vehicles. Seven vehicles were destroyed and the fire burned around two homes. Eventually 10 acres of brush and woods were also involved. The Forestry Commission had one brush unit and two tractors working the fire. Firefighters were able to stop the flames from damaging the homes and many other vehicles on the property. 

Engine 1, Engine 6, Engine 22, Tender 6, Tender 22, Tender 27, Medic 1, Medic 6, Brush 6, Brush 27, Battalion 1, Car 105 and Car 112 responded. Captain KC Campbell served as Incident Commander.
