26-February-2025 - High Speed MVC - "B" Shift Incident # 25-01643 - Two adult males were injured in a single vehicle, high speed MVC on McDanieltown Road at the intersection of Liza Ln Wednesday evening 26-February at 20:34. The north bound pickup truck lost control, crossed into the south bound lane where it collided with a guardrail and began to flip over. The truck then struck a road culvert, overturned several times before colliding upside down with a tree. Fire-Rescue units arrived to find the vehicle on its roof. Bystanders described the collision as an explosion and they came out of the homes to investigate. They assisted the injured men until Firefighter-Paramedics arrived. Both men were treated at the scene. A second Fire-Rescue ambulance was assigned to the incident. One man was transported emergent to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center. The other man received non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Colleton Medical Center. Traffic on McDanieltown Road was blocked for approximately one hour. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. Engine 9, Medic 1, Medic 9, Rescue 1, Battalion 1 and Car 111 responded. Engineer-Paramedic Tony Keen served as Incident Commander. |
