Incident # 25-01943 - Approximately five acres and two vehicles were burned Saturday afternoon 08-March in the 1400 block of Azalea Patch Road. The incident was reported at 12:19 when a controlled burn got out of hand and quickly spread. The fire entered a field and wooded area, burned two vehicles and endangered one structure. The property owner assisted, using a tractor to cut fire lines around the fire. Engine 18 arrived and deployed several handlines. They requested additional assistance as well as the Forestry Commission. Fire units were on the scene for two hours.
Engine 18, Tender 4, Tender 18, Tender 24, Brush 27, Brush 31 and Battalion 1 responded. The Forestry Commission sent one tractor and a brush unit. Battalion Chief Chris Jones served as Incident Commander.
