Incident # 25-02125 - A 16 year old male received serious injuries in a reported accidental shooting at Walterboro Village Apartments located at 601 Green Pond Hwy. The incident occurred Friday evening 14-March at 22:39. The young man told responders he was assisting another person while cleaning a firearm when the weapon discharged. The bullet struck the 16 year old in the thigh, breaking his femur. Firefighter-Paramedics treated him at the scene, then transported him emergent to the Trauma Center at MUSC. The Walterboro Police Department is investigating the incident.
