Incident # 25-02756 - An adult male was critically injured in a high speed, single vehicle MVC in approximately the 11000 block of ACE Basin Parkway (US Hwy 17) north of Green Pond, Wednesday evening 02-April at 22:06. The northbound pickup truck dropped off of the right shoulder, over-corrected and flipped over several times coming to rest on its side in the median. The unrestrained driver was ejected from the vehicle and found approximately 50 feet from the truck. The man suffered multiple traumatic injuries and a head injury. He was treated at the scene by Firefighter-Paramedics, then transported emergent to the Trauma Center at MUSC by Fire-Rescue Medic 6. No medical helicopters could fly due to fog. Northbound ACE Basin Parkway was blocked for a short period while the SC Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
Engine 6, Medic 6, Battalion 1, Car 104 and Car 107 responded. Firefighter-EMT Jaron Cain served as Incident Commander.
