Incident # 25-02942 - An adult male was fatally injured in a single vehicle high speed MVC on Sidneys Road at Buckeye Lane Friday morning 11-April at 03:33. The northbound Nissan pickup truck left the roadway in a curve, struck a culvert, then a large tree. The impact caused heavy damage to the truck, which overturned on Sidneys Road. The male driver was the only occupant and was wearing a seatbelt, but suffered multiple traumatic injuries. A Sheriff's Deputy was in the area and arrived within minutes of the 9-1-1 call. He was not able to reach the driver. Heavy rains had just passed through the area. Fire-Rescue units arrived about 10 minutes later finding the road blocked. They were able to determine the driver was deceased and contact the Coroner's Office who responded to the scene. Firefighter-Paramedics stabilized the truck, then used Holmatro Pentheon Rescue Tools to remove the roof and extricate the driver. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
