22/April/2025 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift

Incident # 25-03262 - Two mobile homes were destroyed Tuesday afternoon 22-April in the 100 block of Papillion Ln. At 16:59, 9-1-1 received a report of the fire. The caller advised the mobile homes were burning and all occupants had exited the building. Engine 36 laid a 5 inch supply line down the narrow dirt road and deployed two handlines to combat the fire. The occupants advised they were inside one mobile home when they heard noises and it became dark. They looked out a window and saw one mobile home was fully involved. The two structures were only several feet apart. The fire quickly spread to the second mobile home. Firefighters found the first mobile home had already collapsed and the second was well involved. They worked for approximately 25 minutes to bring the fire under control, but were on the scene for three hours conducting overhaul. Engine 9 set up a drop tank on Sidneys Road and pumped water to Engine 36 at the scene. Tenders rotated in to supply Engine 9. One firefighter was injured and was treated at the scene.
