29/April/2025 - Structure Fire - "A" Shift Incident # 25-03454 - Two alert neighbors helped save a local business Tuesday afternoon 29-April. At 18:34, a resident across from the facility noticed a large amount of smoke coming from the building and called her son who lived next door. 9-1-1 was then notified. The woman's son ran to the building and used a garden hose to slow the advance of the flames. The fire which appeared to have started near some electrical equipment had spread to nearby tool boxes and run up a wall inside the building. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed one handline to the building and extinguished the remaining flames saving the building and two semi trucks inside. No injuries were reported. The shop owners can be thankful to the watchful eye and quick actions of their neighbors. Engine 18, Engine 26, Tender 1, Tender 18, Tender 26, Tender 27, Medic 26, Battalion 1 and Car 104 responded. Battalion Chief Scott OQuinn served as Incident Commander. |
