Fire-Rescue's Emergency Management Division and the Colleton County Chamber of Commerce conducted a Business Preparedness Workshop at the Colleton County Emergency Operations Center on Simmons Street Thursday morning 01-May. The event was conducted to assist local businesses prepare for a disaster and the recovery phase of a disaster such as a hurricane or cyber attack. The EOC and live stream had many participants. The program ran a little over an hour. Representatives from the Colleton Chamber of Commerce, SC Department of Commerce, Colleton County Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), Colleton County I/T Office, Colleton County Sheriff's Office, Colleton County Fire-Rescue, SC Department of Insurance, and SC Small Business Development Center presented information. The event was live streamed over several social media sites by Fire-Rescue and the Chamber of Commerce for those who could not attend in person.
