25/May/2025 - Structure Fire - "C" Shift Incident # 25-04167 - A residential structure was damaged in an early morning fire off of Waterfowl Lane east of Cottageville, Sunday morning 25-May at 07:54. Engine 9 arrived to find an elevated porch attached to a home fully involved and starting to burn the structure. All occupants had safely exited the home. Firefighter-Paramedics deployed multiple hand lines to protect the residence and extinguish the fire. Crews worked for 20 minutes to bring the fire under control, but were on the scene for several hours. Water supply was conducted using Tenders. One firefighter was injured during the incident and transported to Colleton Medical Center and later released. The elevated porch suffered extensive damage and the home had the vinyl sided melted on one and the rear of the structure. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
