Incident # 25-06174 - An adult male was critically injured in a shooting incident in the 700 block of Van Dyke Road north of the Town of Cottageville, Thursday afternoon 07-August at 16:16. The man was involved in a reported domestic dispute and was shot in the abdomen. Sheriff's Deputies secured the scene, while Firefighter-Paramedics treated the man. He was transported emergent in Fire-Rescue Medic 9 to the Trauma Center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston. Crews administered TXA, IV Fluids and life saving whole blood during the transport. Additional Firefighter-Paramedics accompanied the crew during transport to assist with his care. The Sheriff's Office quickly apprehended a suspect shortly after the incident occurred.
Engine 9, Medic 9, Battalion 1, Car 111 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Brent Dalton served as Incident Commander.
