02/September/2025 - Fatal MVC with Entrapment - "A" Shift

Incident # 25-06920 - A Colleton County teenager was tragically killed and two other people were injured in a two vehicle MVC in the 600 block of White Hall Road Tuesday evening 02-September. The accident was reported at 18:02. A southbound Honda, driven by a 15 year old male, dropped off of the shoulder and over-corrected. The small car slid sideways, crossed into the northbound lane where it was struck in the passenger's side by a northbound Dodge truck. The two vehicles went off of the northbound shoulder and struck a large pine tree. The Honda received massage damage. The unrestrained driver of the Honda suffered multiple traumatic injuries and was trapped in the wreckage. Bystanders attempted to render aid prior to the arrival of Fire-Rescue units. The two adult males in the pickup truck suffered non-life threatening injuries. Firefighter-Paramedics determined the teenager was deceased and requested the Coroner's Office respond to the scene. The two adults were treated at the scene, then transported by Fire-Rescue Medic 13 to HCA Colleton Hospital in Walterboro. Once the Coroner's Office and Troopers completed their initial investigations, Firefighter-Paramedics used Holmatro Rescue Tools to extricate the driver of the Honda. A wrecker and a tractor from a nearby farm were used to separate the two vehicles and flatbed trailer. White Hall Road was blocked for nearly three hours until the accident could be cleared. The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Engine 1, Medic 13, Rescue 1, Car 107, Car 111 and Car 118 responded. Battalion Chief Scott O'Quinn served as Incident Commander.
